TEVA commends the Abiline City Council for listening to it's citizens and opting not to ban the use of electronic cigarettes. The Council appears to have been persuaded by the fact that many are using e-cigs as a safer alternative to smoking. They were able to understand there is not adequate science to make the claim e-cigarettes are the same as smoking tobacco.

According to the testimony, one of the opponents was a cardiologist and he argued that e-cigarettes containing nicotine leave about 20 percent of that nicotine in the air when exhaled. This is a great example of sensational commentary that has no scientific basis.
The City Council did impose a ban on the sale of e-cigarettes to those under the age of 18 and TEVA supports this reasonable regulation as it has already been adopted by the vast majority of the industry.
